Xbox VP Mike Ybarra has revealed that his time at the company is now over after over 20 years.
Following a twenty-year stint with Microsoft, Xbox’s Vice President Mike Ybarra announced today that he’s moving onto something new.
Ybarra made the announcement over on his Twitter account today, saying that “it’s time for my next adventure.” He went on to thank everyone at Microsoft for his time at the company with, “Thanks to everyone at TeamXbox, I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished and I wish you the best.”
After 20 years at Microsoft, it’s time for my next adventure. It’s been a great ride at Xbox and the future is bright. Thanks to everyone at TeamXbox, I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished and I wish you the best. More soon on what’s next for me (super excited)! 1/2…

“Most importantly I want to thank all of you fellow gamers, and our great fans, for all the support,” Ybarra went on to also say. “Keep gaming and I hope to see you online soon!”
Ybarra has become the second prominent executive to leave one of the big console manufacturers within the past few weeks joining former Sony Chairman Shawn Layden’s departure from PlayStation. It’s a bit odd to see so many high-ranking members of both companies leave their respective businesses ahead of the launch of the PS5 and Xbox Scarlett in 2020.
We’ll keep you posted on where Ybarra ends up next, assuming it’s still within the realm of video games.
