We’ve been waiting for years to hear about the next Rocksteady project. August’s DC Fandome might be the game’s big announcement party.
According to a new report from Eurogamer, the long-awaited Rocksteady project is set to be revealed as a Suicide Squad adaptation. A user at Resetera found a few Warner Bros.-owned domain names that point in that direction. Among the contenders is “SuicideSquadKillTheJusticeLeague.com.” Though others include “SuicideSquadGame.com” and “GothamKnightsGame.com.”
Of course, Rocksteady’s next project is one of the most-discussed topics whenever a major press conference is announced. The team has been working on it since 2016, after all. And, with Warner Bros. set to hold the DC Fandome event in August, we might finally get an official announcement.
That said, there is another game that could make an appearance at DC Fandome. Warner Bros. Montreal has been teasing a Court of Owls game for months. In fact, that “GothamKnightsGame.com” domain could easily direct to that game. However, it’s possible that we could see both games.
Eurogamers appears to believe exactly that will happen. They say that we’ll “see a little” of WB Montreal’s game and “very little” from Rocksteady. Personally, I would be surprised if Montreal doesn’t drop a trailer. I mean, they’ve been teasing their Court of Owls project since 2018. And, if Rocksteady pops up with a next-gen Suicide Squad game, WB is going to have quite the conference on their hands.
DC Fandome starts on August 22 at 10 am PDT. Not only will we hopefully be getting a look at two massive, new games, but the conference is a must-watch for DC fans. Be sure to check back with DualShockers in August for all the info coming out of the event.
