The next game from Cyanide Studios is Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood, a grim and bloody tale from a lycanthrope’s perspective
IGN’s Summer of Gaming kicked off on a bloody, vicious note with Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood. This new title from Cyanide Studios, the creators of the Call of Cthulhu video game and the Styx series, doesn’t have a release date just yet, but it is available to wishlist on the Epic Games Store. Here’s what we know so far about the title.
At first glance, Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood looks like a Resident Evil title but with werewolves, although that’s just in aesthetics. According to the game’s Epic Games Store page, you play as Cahal, a Garou who sends himself into exile after losing control of his rage. Although it’s not clear what a Garou is, I’m guessing it’s someone with the powers of lycanthropy that Cahal possesses. Using his three forms – wolf, human and werewolf – Cahal sets out to defend Gaia, Mother Earth. However, Cahal must continue to tame his rage, or else it will destroy him.
Naturally, each form has its own advantages. As a wolf, Cahal can prowl through the night, stalking and hunting prey undetected. As a human, well, he can do usual human things. Pay taxes, talk to people, you get the gist. It’s as a Werewolf that Cahal can let loose, and unleash his rage to tear enemies apart. In between defending the Earth from harm, Cahal will play a crucial role in a war between his people, the Garou, and Endron, an oil company that serves Wyrm, a destructive spirit hell-bent on decimating Earth.
That’s about all the information that’s available on Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood right now, but there will be even more announcements coming out over the next few days, so keep your eyes peeled. Once again, the game is available to wishlist on the Epic Games Store, although no announcement on a release date or availability on other platforms has been announced as of writing.
