The Outer Worlds takes players to the Gorgon Asteroid with its first narrative DLC release.
We’ve known Obsidian’s space-faring action role-playing game The Outer Worlds was getting new DLC for a while now. The team confirmed they were working on it late last year and have been teasing its existence during 2020. Today, the team finally gave us our first look and announced the DLC is releasing very soon. Peril on Gorgon comes to PC, PS4, and Xbox One on September 9. Give the announcement trailer a watch below.
The Outer Wilds: Peril on Gorgon is a brand-new story expansion for fans of the game. You and your crew will explore a collection of new areas as you try to discover the secrets behind the Gorgon Project. The story that unfolds around the mysterious asteroid is sure to keep players engaged throughout.
Alongside the new location, players can expect three new science weapons. Players will remember these are the truly wild weapons in the first game and it sounds like the new ones are only going to up the ridiculousness factor. Plus, there’s an increased level cap, new perks, and tons more to dig into.
That’s not all though. Alongside the announcement, Obsidian confirmed that this is only the beginning of The Outer Worlds DLC. A second story-based offering is on the horizon. That’s great news for fans looking to get even more out of their trip to Halcyon.
The Outer Worlds: Peril of Gorgon comes to PC, PS4, and Xbox One on September 9. No word yet on a potential Nintendo Switch release. Same goes for next-gen consoles. That said, I would expect news on that front sometime in the near future.
