Star Wars: The Old Republic has at long last landed on Steam and contains both crossplay and cross-save functionality.
As part of its growing initiative to make more games available for sale via Steam, EA and BioWare have today released Star Wars: The Old Republic on the platform.
First released back in 2011, today marks the first instance that The Old Republic has become available on PC outside of EA’s own launcher. The ongoing MMORPG, which just received a new expansion late in 2019, will be crossplay compatible with those who choose to continue playing the game via Origin. Conversely, if you’d like to make Steam your new home for all things related to Star Wars: ToR, cross-save functionality has also been brought over, too.

As for what else Steam users are now getting with Star Wars: The Old Republic, trading cards, emoticons, and backgrounds from the game have also come with the game’s arrival on the platform. Additionally, and while not implemented right away, The Old Republic will also be getting over 100 achievements for Steam, too. As of now, BioWare and EA have said that these achievements won’t be arriving until later on in 2020. However, players will be able to retroactively unlock them, assuming they’ve met the requirements already.
Despite being nearly ten years old, Star Wars: The Old Republic continues to have a consistent player base and BioWare is still supporting the MMORPG to this day. If you’d like to download the game for free right now, you can head to its Steam page by clicking right here.
