Mental Health Charity Safe in our World is auctioning off a rare Nintendo Switch Lite where all proceeds go to help raise awareness in the video game industry.
Looking after your own mental health is always important but especially so this year as many of us have suffered the side effects of COVID-19. Whether that’s through losing a loved one, financial difficulties through lack of work or just the sheer impact this year has brought down on us, reaching out and talking about your problems is key. Safe in our World‘s main goal is to create and foster worldwide mental health awareness within the video game industry and beyond; to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health, to make it a natural topic of discussion, and to promote the dialogue surrounding mental health so people are not afraid to reach out for help if they need it. To celebrate the launch of AVICII Invector on the Switch, Safe in our World is auctioning off a rare Nintendo Switch Lite where all proceeds go to the charity to help further their mission.
Avicii Invector, developed by Hello There Games and published by Wired Productions, follows a space pilot named Stella as she visits various worlds. The player has to race through the music track and is tasked with matching the “musical beat” all to the tune of Avicii’s music. Tim Bergling, better known as the world-renowned DJ Avicii, tragically died from suicide on 20 April 2018. Avicii Invector was crafted in collaboration with the titular artist prior to his death and since his passing, all music royalties are being donated to the Tim Bergling Foundation, who advocate for the recognition of suicide as a global health emergency and supports initiatives that engage in preventative actions against mental illness and suicide. Since the game’s release last month on the Switch, Safe in our World is raffling off a very special all White Nintendo Switch that has been created to help raise funding for the video games charity. Every £5/$7 donation grants you entry to the prize draw with all money raised going to future initiatives by the charity who receive no direct funding or grants.
100% of all proceeds from the auction which is taking place on Tiltify, goes to help Safe in Our World establish support and deliver initiatives, both internally within the industry (such as their recently announced Level Up Program and soon to launch Mental Health Workplace Training course) and their gamer facing support/signposting. If you would like to show your support and be in for the chance of winning this rather fancy Avicii Invector white Nintendo Switch, head on over to Tiltify to place your donation which also accepts PayPal and if you are the lucky winner, worldwide free shipping is also available no matter where you are.
