After a long wait, Microsoft has officially confirmed when the Xbox Series X is arriving, and the final price for the next-gen system.
While Sony and Microsoft have been playing a game of chicken for the past few months regarding when we’ll expect their next-gen systems to release and what their price would be, it seems like the game has finally ended. Given that both systems were bound to debut in November, there was only a matter before one of the two console makers budged to reveal the date and price for their system, and Microsoft is the one to have made the first move.
Microsoft has finally let the console out of the bag and announced that the Xbox Series X will officially launch on November 10, 2020. Coming alongside the recently-confirmed Xbox Series S–a smaller, cheaper next-gen console at $299–the Series X will retail for $499 and will feature a financing option to pay for the system at $35/month. Additionally, Microsoft has confirmed that pre-orders for the system will begin on September 22, 2020.
