“Backend platform bumps” cause the game to be delayed to October 29 in Europe.
If you are a European who was excited to download Devolver Digital’s latest game, Disc Room, on your Nintendo Switch today, I have some bad news for you. It’s been delayed.
The title was due for release today on both PC, via Steam and the Epic Games Store, and the Nintendo Switch, however, some “unfortunate backend platform bumps” have caused the title to be delayed on the latter in Europe. The delay isn’t life-changing and the title will still release before the month ends, on October 29, but nonetheless, it’s still upsetting for those who were looking to “get sliced in half” today.
For those who own a PC, are willing to sacrifice the portability and are desperate to play the game, it will still be available later today on Steam and the Epic Games Store in all regions.
Disc Room, for those unaware, is a typically Devolver game. The description of the game says:
“The year is 2089 and a giant disc has appeared in orbit of Jupiter. Step into the oversized space suit of a brave scientist and explore this sprawling intergalactic slaughterhouse.”
Our full review of Disc Room just dropped and our reviewer Cam Hawkins enjoyed the game, scoring it an 8.5. Of the game, he said:
“The demanding level of challenge in Disc Room makes Devolver Digital’s latest title a game that I think most people can and will enjoy, even if there might be some rage-induced screams at the same time.”
Europeans should be used to getting things a little late by now. The most recent example of this is regarding the PS5. Sony’s next-gen console is due to drop in Europe a week after the rest of the world. Excited players will still have the option to pick up their games and accessories for the console earlier however, if online listings are to be believed.
